President of Ceres Ltd David Nealis tours Apple headquarters in Cupertino California. Apple is a very inspirational firm, you can’t help but to think to yourself as you walk out of there “what can we be doing better in my own firm? And what does the future bring”.

David Nealis had the amazing opportunity to attend Shot Show 2020 in Las Vegas with more than 60,000 attendees; the trade show is the largest of its kind in the world.

Shot Show is a trade show featuring all categories of shooting equipment and tactical gear.. With the latest firearms, protective equipment, and tactical gear, the Shot Show is packed with opportunities to meet directly with manufacturers, suppliers, and other service providers who can provide the best gear and services for tactical teams arriving in theater.

David Nealis; It was a great experience touring Stanford University.

 Stanford which is a research university is rank as one of the world's top universities with a rich history since its establishment in 1891. As of January 2020, 83 Nobel laureates, 27 Turing Award laureates and 8 Fields Medalists have been affiliated with Stanford as students, alumni, faculty or staff. In addition, Stanford University is particularly noted for its entrepreneurship and is one of the most successful universities in attracting funding for start-ups.

Stanford is the alma mater of one president of the United States (Herbert Hoover), 30 living billionaires, and 17 astronauts. It is also one of the leading producers of members of the United States Congress.

Vietnam’s shift from a centrally planned to a market economy has transformed the country from one of the poorest in the world into one of the most dynamic emerging countries in East Asia. David Nealis and Jane Yang of Ceres Ltd visit Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and to other cities in the surrounding area to explore business opportunities.

David Nealis; on a recent trip to Shanghai it was great to visit the city I called home for a decade, catch up with co-workers, business partners, and old friends.

We at Ceres Ltd like to take time out to highlight some of our outstanding employees, this time we are focusing on Jane Yang our VP of Project Development.

Miss Yang received her Bachelor’s degree in International Economics and Trade from Eastern Liaoning University. She holds a Futures Professional Certificate from the China Futures Association, Securities Qualification Certificate from Security Association of China as well as Investment Fund Qualification Certificate from Asset Management Association of China. Ms. Yang is a native Chinese speaker, fluent in English and conversational Korean.

In addition to her day to day role at Ceres Ltd recently Miss Yang earned a Microsoft Office Specialist Master Certification (MOS), met with Richard M. Daley the 54th mayor of Chicago (1989-2011) in Shanghai, China and traveled to Vietnam to help identify new business opportunities.

Ms. Yang is a vital member of our team and we are  proud of her  achievements and being able to provide her a platform to continually grow.

David Nealis visits clients and business partners in Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan is going through a period of economic reform and the State Owned Enterprises have been given the mandate to enter capital markets abroad with a main focus on US and UK Markets.

David Nealis President of Ceres Ltd traveled to Turkey to meet with mid-size firms that are capital hungry, Turkey is one of the benefiters of the trade tension between China and the USA. Many of the firms with met with are extremely interested in entering US and UK financial markets.

David Nealis attends the FIA Expo 2019 in Chicago. It was the 35th Annual Futures and Options Expo.

Zina Blahusova a well-known actress and musician in Asia, originally from the Czech Republic, Ms Blahusova is classically trained at the Czech Republic Conservatory , she  speaks  Czech, Chinese, Japanese, English and Russian

In 2019 those of us at Ceres Ltd decided to spend more time focused on the Chicago market after a decade of being focused on China.

David Nealis: In 2019 there were many exciting things going on in Chicago and I felt Ceres should be more involved with them.  We all know the financial industry and technology go hand in hand, Chicago’s history as a trading and banking city, have inspired a generation of talented, tech-minded traders & financial professionals to start Fintech firms, New Exchanges, Block Chain and Crypto startups. In addition to the exciting start up mania that was sweeping the city, well established financial institutions like the CME and CBOT were adding new contracts and evolving to take on the needs of the modern economy.

David Nealis served as a Board Member of the Technology and Product Development Board from 2012 until 2015 for Huatie.

Huatie is a professional manufacturer of aluminum charge air coolers, radiators and its component parts for heavy duty trucks. We serve Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) in China and for the international market. Huatie is located in Shenyang, Liaoning, China.

China’s pork industry is US$1 trillion market, not only is China the world’s largest producer of pork and also a net importer of pork. In 2017 it is estimated that China slaughtered 700 million pigs. Yeoman farms producing fewer than 500 pigs for slaughter each year are estimated to account for about 40 per cent of China’s output annually.

During the Year of the Pig ( 2019) let’s hope that the Chinese and other affected regions of the world get the African Swine Virus under control and while they are at it let’s find an intelligent.

Jane Yang on her family farm near Erdos, Inner Mongolia, and David Nealis is a co-investor in the farm. David Nealis “The farm is one of my inspirations; we raise hogs, sheep, chickens and occasionally rabbits. In addition to livestock we also grow corn, hemp, beans a unique local apple as well as other crops. Over the years we’ve tested other crops like jalapeno and habanero peppers and I am always searching for something new to grow there.”

David Nealis President of Ceres Ltd attends Fintechs FTX18. The topics included key trends in machine learning, exchange technology, data analytics, artificial intelligence, market data, trading software, APIs and alternative data.

China launches long-awaited oil futures, the long-awaited Shanghai Crude oil contract finally launched. It made its trading debut on Shanghai's International Energy Exchange. By 11:30 am trading volumes of the contract reached 13.4 billion yuan. David Nealis was honored to be recognized as contributing member of the East Futures Learning Club. Mr Nealis has had the opportunity to present to the club several times over the years. Covering several subjects including trading global capital markets, Fund of Funds (FoF), Arbitrage trading opportunities between Western and Eastern Markets including the US and China, the differences between American and Chinese financial markets and how to trade them. He also learned many things about the Chinese Market from attending their weekly meetings covering Chinese Futures, Physical Commodities, Chinese Equities, and Fintech in the Chinese Market. East Futures is a Shanghai, China based futures brokerage.
